My name is Helen and I am the tortoise. I am running a-marathon-a-month for all of 2012 for The Village of Hope.

The Village of Hope is a real place in Tanzania that looks after children who are orphans, having lost their parents to aids.

Although the village of hope may sound like a fuzzy place that I have made up in my mind, or stolen from Gwyneth Paltrow's blog, it is neither. It is a real place. And it needs us.
